Leaders of the annual Kosherfest trade show co-produced by LUBICOM and Diversified Business Communications visited a number of major Israeli food manufacturers during a 3-day mission to Israel in June. The visit was coordinated by The Israel Export & International Cooperation Ins. Portland, ME… Menachem Lubinsky, LUBICOM’s CEO headed the trade mission to promote the 2008 edition of Kosherfest, which will take place at the Jacob k. Javits Convention Center in New York (November 11-12). Representing Diversified Business Communications, the co-producers of Kosherfest, was Brain Randall and Hillary Manning. More than 50 Israeli companies participate in Kosherfest as part of the growing involvement of the Israeli food industry in the US kosher market. Israeli food exports to the US have soared to $134 million, with a key component being the kosher food market. Said Lubinsky: “It is quite amazing that Israeli food exports in the first 55 years of the existence of the State of Israel reached $65 million, but that in less than 5 years since then it has more than doubled”.

Dessert Expo Moves to Atlanta

Atlanta… After 4 years in Las Vegas, the Great American Dessert Expo, a trade show affiliated with LUBICOM is moving to Atlanta. The Dessert Expo is the only tradeshow devoted exclusively to the dessert industry. Once again, the show will be co-located with Coffee Fest due to the demand for coffee and desserts under one roof.

Desserts account for billions of dollars of sales in the food industry but until 2000, they never had an “industry” of their own. LUBICOM realized that there was a need to create such an industry for the category that was growing more than any other in the food industry. The first ever Dessert Expo was held together with the Pastry Chef Competition in Las Vegas. Now the Dessert Expo prides itself on having close to 100 booths and 4000 attendees.
